Opened last July, Anya Resort Tagaytay is only the third establishment in the Philippines to receive a seal of approval from the Small Luxury Hotels (SLH) of the World.
Known for its exclusivity, scenic setting and bespoke services, it is one of just over 500 luxury boutique hotels accepted into the exclusive organization.
To be called an SLH establishment, the place is visited by anonymous inspectors who check if a hotel meets the world-class standards of SLH.
Anya got a score of 93.5 percent, a significant achievement for the small hotel on its first year of operations. “The resort already appears to be operating like a well-oiled machine,” read one of the inspector’s comments.
He cited the level of personal service by Anya management and staff, who welcomed him and his wife, even calling them by their names during their stay, offering personal touches that made their time memorable. The housekeeping staff even let his wife try out the selection of pillows and select her favorite. The staff also ran a rose petal bath for them in their room after dinner.
The inspector noted the modern design of the place, making Anya “stand out in a class of its own in the Tagaytay area.”
During a meal at Samira, the resort’s fine-dining restaurant, he was also impressed with the extensive yet reasonably priced degustation menu. His report: “Anya Resort is an excellent addition to the SLH portfolio.”
