The Super guide to Wanderland
You must have been listening to your Wanderland playlists featuring this year’s golden lineup of Kodaline, Jhené Aiko, Lauv, FKJ, Daniel Caesar, Bag Raiders, Jess Connelly, QUEST, IV of Spades, Ben&Ben and newcomers to the local music scene Asch, Carousel Casualties and Basically Saturday Night nonstop. If Wanderland: Pixels will be your first Wanderland ever, here are some notes from one (former) Wandervirgin to another:
- Plan your fest sets ahead
Here’s the sad truth, you won’t be able to watch all the acts with a good view. Mark the sets you absolutely can’t miss and try to secure a good spot near the stage before they even start with the sound check. Make sure you have a copy of the playtime schedule on your phone on the day of the festival!
- Bring a picnic mat
This Wanderland wonder does a lot of things—save your spot, give a little seating comfort, and you can totally rest on it while waiting for the artists to play their set!
- Wear comfortable clothes
Rompers are an absolute no-no—it just makes it so hard to pee! Make sure your shoes can also survive a muddy field. Don’t forget— sunnies and caps also help a lot during the hot afternoon.
- Come early
Get to enjoy Wanderland from the moment the festival gate opens til it closes. Coming early means dodging long lines, having more time to take awesome photos, watch the live art performances, check out the cool booths, and have extra hours to get hyped about your favorite songs that will be played live later on.
- Stock up on food from the concessionaires
The minute you step in the festival grounds, make sure you get some grub that you can munch on throughout the day. Bring a bag where you can stuff all the snacks you can buy from the stalls. Trust us, you wouldn’t want to be missing your favorite band perform just because the lines for food are insanely endless come dinner time.
- Set a meeting place
In case mobile signal would be a problem, assign a specific meeting spot on the festival grounds in the occasion any of your friends go missing.
- Keep dehydrated
Water, beer, juice—fill yourselves up with liquids so you don’t get hit with a heatstroke. Don’t worry about going to the bathroom too often, Wanderland’s portalets are A+!
Wanderland Music and Arts Festival is on March 10 at Filinvest City Event Grounds, Alabang.
