Philippine artists in KL

Hulo Hotel and Gallery in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with the Filipinas Institute for the Advancement of Arts and Culture will mount “Art Collab: Rediscovering Art & Culture,” starting March 6.

Show will be opened by Malaysian Ambassador Charles C. Jose.

Participating artists are Roy Espinosa, Angelo “Jo” Florendo, Khristine Manansala, Liza Oppus, Mylene Quito, Lloyd Lusica, Melli Villavicencio and Kim Mamaril.

Malaysian artists are Ellen Ng, Pyanz Shariff, Checkri Mansor, and Aminah Abd Rahman.

Auction at Manila House

The University of Asia and the Pacific-University Student Government and Leòn Gallery will present “Art with a Big Heart: A Fundraising Art Auction” on March 17, 2 p.m., at Manila House Private Members Club.

Up for auctions are works by National Artists Benedicto Cabrera, Arturo Luz, Federico Aguilar Alcuaz, Juvenal Sansó.

The pieces will be previewed by appointment on March 12-16.

The auction, to be facilitated by art critic Cid Reyes, will support the Phoenix Scholarship Program recently implemented by the UA&P-USG.

Vargas Museum workshop

Vargas Museum will be holding “Form And Metamorphosis,” an experiential workshop in clay following Rudolf Steiner’s indications on Dynamic Forms in Architecture on March 10.

Participants will use clay to experience Steiner’s lecture on the architecture. Reimon Gutierrez will be facilitating.

Slots are limited to 25 people. Fee is P600, and P300 students inclusive of museum entrance and materials.
