Herbalife Nutrition Employees Volunteering at SOS Children’s Village Alabang

To help the community become healthier and happier, and in line with the celebration of the Company’s Global Month of Purpose,Herbalife NutritionPhilippines employees will dedicate at least four hours of their weekend to do volunteer activities at SOS Children’s Village in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

The Global Month of Purpose, which was launched on February 1, 2018, is Herbalife Nutrition’s corporate social responsibility initiative to help underserved communities with a focus on children. It is being piloted in five countries – India, Mexico, the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Philippines.

“Herbalife Nutrition strives to make the world a healthier and happier place. Through our corporate social responsibility projects, we give meaning to our purpose to bring those less fortunate along with us,”said Herbalife Nutrition Philippines General Manager Rosalio Valenzuela. “This employee volunteering initiative will expand our reach to ensure more children have the opportunity to be healthier and happier.”

In the Philippines, Herbalife Nutrition employee who volunteer at SOS Children’s Village in Alabangwill be assigned in different houses, where each will take part in the daily chores and routine of their host family.

Activities range from preparing nutritious food, gardening, grounds and housekeeping; to ensuring that children and young adults are engaged in a healthy active lifestyle through exercise and sports clinics facilitated by the employees themselves. Through this volunteer work, they will experience how it is to live for a day with the families in an SOS Village.

“This is a good opportunity for our employees to get to know our Casa Herbalife Program partner on a deeper level, and vicce-versa. It will give us a glimpse of their daily lives, and a chance to be part of it as well. Aside from good nutrition, we’d like to be part of their happy environment by showing them and making them feel that we truly care; that we are interested and are truly engaged in their growth,” added Valenzuela.

SOS Children’s Village is the first Casa Herbalife Program in the Philippines in 2010. Through it, hundreds of children are given a chance to live in a house with a mother as head of the household and other kids. At present, there are eight SOS villages, located in Bataan, Calbayog, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Lipa, Tacloban and Manila. All these SOS villages nationwide have received healthy meals through the Casa Herbalife Program, a flagship program by the Herbalife Family Foundation with a focus on helping bring good nutrition to children in need.
