Ortigas art festival running at Estancia

Ortigas & Company is holding a monthlong art festival at Estancia mall until March 26.

Estancia’s bridgeway has been transformed into a space featuring the unique pieces of artists Allison Wong-David, known for her works with stainless steel; Helen Mirasol, who’s known for her photographic artworks; and Peter Sutcliffe, a watercolor artist and art teacher.

The festival also features up-and-coming artists Anthony Victoria, Arvi Fetalvero, Bon Mujeres, Ged Merino and Richard Buxani.

Contemporary art

The art festival is being held in partnership with Alfredo Esquillo’s Eskinita Gallery, an alternative platform for artists and an “art project” that continues to evolve in the “here and now” of contemporary art.

Estancia also features collaborations and group exhibits by Tuklas, Biskeg and KalyeKolektib.

The Ortigas Art Festival was opened during National Art Month last February by Ortigas & Company.

“Capitol Commons is really being positioned as a global lifestyle destination,” said Ortigas CEO Jaime Ysmael.” “We felt that art, and making it a part of Estancia’s soul, will add great value to our properties.”

Apart from the exhibits, there will also be weekly “interactive experiences” in the Ortigas Art Festival.

On March 18,  Kalye Kolektib will hold Live Art: Mural Making.

On March 25, Sutcliffe will hold a watercolor tutorial.

All activities are free of charge. –CONTRIBUTED
