Emman Acasio paints hometown in ‘Stories From Home’

Emman Acasio mounts his first solo exhibit at Galerie Stephanie in Shangri-La Plaza, Mandaluyong City. In “Stories from Home,” he pays tribute to his hometown of Lemery, located on the coast of Batangas.

Acasio is a graduate of the University of Santo Tomas with a degree in fine arts. His father is  Lino Acasio, the much-admired landscape artist, who obviously would have an influence on the young Emman’s growing-up years.

In “Stories From Home,” the artist goes back to his roots and paints the beauties and tragedies of his hometown. Composed in a somewhat somber and reflective mood, the paintings all hold a special story within them and embody Acasio’s advocacy for the environment.

“I am sticking to my roots and highlight those that were from my hometown and hope that my painting will be able to spark a sense of consciousness as well as jump-start concrete actions and efforts toward environmental preservation,” said Acasio.

“Stories From Home” runs from March 15-31 at Galerie Stephanie, 4/F East Wing of Shangri-La Plaza, Mandaluyong City. Artist’s reception is on March 17, 4 p.m.
