Because the plane ride makes a difference, too

PAL finds ways to make their passengers at ease on trips

Traveling isn’t just about the destination, but also how you get there. We spend much time in transit that the experience counts, as well. It should be comfortable enough to relax you for what’s ahead, and also make you look forward to flying once again.

Thus, your chosen airline becomes your partner in the journey. There’s a relationship you build on what it can offer: frequent flier miles, exclusive benefits, and ticket sales.

In turn, you give the airline your loyalty and also a personal recommendation to your friends. These days, choosing an airline is often decided through the personal testimony of close friends.

This relationship also helps you dream of more trips abroad. You don’t feel like it’s a chore once you’re all packed and ready to go. Even for business trips, a good airline will make you feel energized.

I can imagine how tricky it is for airlines to get everything right. From the premier staff and the quality amenities (who’s not a sucker for the little airline kits you get?) to the booking convenience to the flight route itself.

A few airlines have mastered this, and even adapted it to the changing times. You can buy a ticket and check in through an app, while some even offer you a overview of the flight schedules if you need to compare pricing.

Flying should be a comfortable experience

Personal touch

Above all, the airline should give you its personal touch. When you fly, the ideal airline makes you feel like you’re part of its family. That’s hard to achieve, and relies on a multilevel approach.

From my own experience, I can say that Philippine Airlines (PAL) strives to be this kind of airline. It finds ways to make its passengers at ease on trips. It also has a grip on the latest travel trends, and communicates effectively to its audience.

Take a look at its latest advertising campaign, “Fly the Way You Deserve.” It not only had an impact on its customers, but it impressed YouTube, as well. PAL was recently chosen as one of the winners of the YouTube Leaderboard Ads in the latter half of 2017.

The ad became a trending post online with 1.6 million views and 3.4 million impressions.

Created by Ogilvy & Mather, the ad spoke about PAL’s offer to “fly the way you deserve with heartfelt, full-service flights at surprisingly affordable rates.”

The ad caught the attention of people who assumed that PAL was an expensive option, when, in fact, it was client-friendly without compromising quality.

Notable was how PAL didn’t use any celebrity or influencer in the ad. Instead it simply reached out to the audience by offering good service.

The ad was effective because it empowered travelers to have a choice—an access to the airline’s best amenities.

It delivered a simple statement that PAL is all about good service, rather than just another company whose main concern is profit.

Flying isn’t just about getting from one point to the next. It’s also about knowing how far Filipino travelers can go and what they need to get there.
