Set your sights on new travel destinations

Summer gets hotter this weekend as two of my favorite activities are combined into one exciting affair. First off, Rustan’s kicks off the hottest season with a travel fair and an amazing showcase of summer essentials at great deals.

Not your typical travel fair, Rustan’s “Your Summer Escape” presents new, exciting destinations to inspire your desire to travel, from icy escapes and cruises in Norway to every beach-lover’s paradise in Club Med Resorts or the Seychelles islands.

Travel packages

Adventure International Tours offers amazing travel packages as well, including all-inclusive Crystal Cruise Voyages, with up to $250 free in shipboard credits on select cruises for Rustan’s FSP members. Other promos include two-for-one rates at Club Med Resorts.

On the local front, Crimson Resort & Spa Boracay is offering special packages exclusively at the fair. Those who book also earn electronic raffle entries to win one of eight Dream Vacations at Crimson Resort & Spa Boracay. Now that’s a great way to enjoy Boracay this summer!

As partners in this Rustan’s travel fair, Philippine Airlines and Qatar Airways make traveling more enticing with incredibly lower rates. PAL is celebrating its 77th anniversary with special promos on airfares to select destinations. For Qatar, there are special, all-inclusive fares to their select destinations from Manila and Clark, with up to 40-percent discounts and interest-free, deferred rates when booked with an HSBC credit card.

Various lifestyle brands will also be at Your Summer Escape, with discounts of up to 50 percent on select bags and luggage from American Tourister, High Sierra and Samsonite. Hackett and Ricardo Preto also have special offers. Today is the last day, so check it out on the fifth floor of Rustan’s Makati.

If you miss it, the next fair will be at Rustan’s Shangri-La Plaza with PAL, AITI and Turkish Airways on April 27-29.

Building and construction expo

The second exciting event this weekend is the 23rd WorldBex held simultaneously in three venues. WorldBex is the country’s largest building and construction expo, and is happening at the World Trade Center, the Philippine Trade Training Center and the SMX Convention Center.

I visited the Wilcon Depot booth at the main hall of World Trade Center before going to the press launch of Philippine Realty TV (PRTV). Its producer John Aguilar was happy to celebrate PRTV’s 10th anniversary that will soon air at its new home on CNN Philippines.

At my Interior Gallery booth at the expo, I tapped Uratex and Global Views to help me create a monochromatic bedroom that showcases Uratex’s top-of-the-line premium mattress. These mattresses are designed with the latest sleep-science technology and luxurious fabric for a truly premium, comfortable feel.

Kaye Tiñga, my Red Charity Gala founding partner, and I are also participating in Uratex’s 50th anniversary CSR activity, where 50 Uratex mattresses will be donated to 50 institutions across the country, including the Philippine General Hospital, Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital, Veterans Hospital and National Children’s Hospital, to name a few.

Efficient hydration

Summer means hot weather and we need to be constantly hydrated. Science has it: Water is the healthiest and most accessible beverage you can drink. Water is life and, as The Aivee Group puts it, “The right water is the key to a healthy life.”

The group recently introduced its latest innovation, The Aivee Water Portable Device. For the past few years, Dr. Z and Dr. Aivee Teo have been steering The Aivee Group toward a more holistic approach to wellness and beauty.

It began with the revolutionary A Institute, which was the country’s premier integrated wellness and surgical center. The Aivee Café and Dr. Food followed shortly after, to have Aivee’s patients eating healthy while having their beauty treatments.

The Aivee Water Portable Device continues that overall approach to health.

The device converts regular drinking water into hydrogen-rich water. Molecular hydrogen plays a major role in healing the body as it creates energy for sustenance.

It’s all about promoting cell regeneration and slowing down the aging process.

Since our bodies are largely made up of water, the Aivee Portable Device uses water in antioxidant form as an efficient and economical mode of countering free radicals. Best of all, you can’t overdose on too much hydrogen water.

Aivee Water may be a diuretic simply because it detoxifies the whole body. In effect, drinking Aivee Water helps fight diseases, reduces inflammation, strengthens the immune system, increases antioxidants, speeds up metabolism, aids in weight loss and rejuvenates the skin.

The Aivee Water bottle is a top-tier molecular hydrogen water bottle as it is made from actual titanium plates that will not easily corrode or produce metallic water, which is unhealthy. While other hydrogen bottles make 300 to 600 parts per billion of molecular hydrogen, the Aivee Water bottle produces 900 parts per billion of molecular hydrogen-rich water.

Made in Korea, the Aivee Water bottle has a life span of up to five years. You can drink Aivee Water every day, and it is therapeutic for use in face washing and gargling as well.

In closing, I’d like to wish my beloved sister Sandy a happy birthday! It’s been an exciting ride for us these past years, and I’m looking forward to more years of mutually supporting one another as we go through life. Have the best birthday, Sandy!
