For 2018, the hair trends point to beach hair—messy and tousled waves with the right amount of volume.
“This look can be done at home with a curling iron, and patience to style and give your hair some volume,” says French hairstylist Laurent Hebert.
Hair color this year is leaning toward bright colors like grass green, purple and a very light blonde, almost platinum. Hebert says maintaining those colors, however, will entail a lot of work—regular touch-ups included.
“Last year, it was rainbow colors. What’s interesting for me is that I saw this transformation in Manila. When I first got here, women wanted straight hair with very little color,” he says.
La Provençe creative director Mehdi Moussaoui says there are three trends of hair lengths this year: a pixie cut but not as short as last year’s, a heavy bob for midlength tresses, and layered and messy locks for those with long hair.
When it comes to color, pastels like green, light blue, pink and mint are what’s hot. On the opposite side of the spectrum are highlights in sunny gold, copper, red and ash.
“Clients who are willing to go full head can do so, but if they simply want to try it out, we can place a few, face-framing highlights in their preferred shade,” says Moussaoui.
La Provençe is on the third level of Central Square in Bonifacio Global City.
