5 shopping items I hoard on every foreign trip

Compeed Anti-Blister Stick

Traveling abroad provides a break from the daily grind, as well as an opportunity for new experiences and, of course, shopping.

When shopping, I tend to hoard beauty items that I can’t find in Manila or those that fetch high shipping fees if I were to order it from abroad. So, I make sure to buy supplies good for a few months, or which will last until I can make a trip back.

First thing on the list of must-hoard items is the Lancôme Bi-Facil Makeup Remover and Cleanser. I buy it every time I can, and just recently realized that I’ve hoarded quite a lot already.

The bi-phased solution, made of micellar water and oil makeup remover, is efficient. It dissolves long-wearing, waterproof makeup without much effort. You don’t need to go over your face roughly with a cotton pad, so no need to tug on your skin. Plus, it leaves the skin refreshed. If this is the only thing you can do after a long day, so be it.

Second item is Compeed Anti-Blister Stick. When you love shoes and tend to act like a vagabond, this product becomes a best friend. Rub a little on the parts of your foot where you can feel excessive rubbing. It’s great to have when you’re breaking in new shoes.

Charlotte Tilbury Unisex Healthy Glow Hydrating Tinted Moisturizer

The third product I always need to buy abroad is the Charlotte Tilbury Unisex Healthy Glow Hydrating Tinted Moisturizer. On a flight, in between airports, or during daily tasks, this is a hero product. It evens out the skin tone with natural pigments for a great tan every single time.

Fourth on my list has to be the Tom Ford Eye Defining Pen. This is the eyeliner you need for life. It has a duo tip that helps you regulate the thickness of your eyeliner. It’s also great when you need to do a cat eye like a pro. The formula is unbeatable. It doesn’t run, smudge or transfer. What else could you need from an eyeliner?

Fifth is cooling mint eye-drops. I made my workmates try it out—the cooling sensation can be surprising especially if you’re not used to it. But it’s a great way to relieve tired eyes. It gives them the illusion of light. It’s a great secret weapon in your clutch for parties and other occasions when you need to look awake.

Not only do I use these products, I also give them as presents to close friends. They are like secrets I pass on, well-kept but also useful.
