Make the Most of Your Summer with these #LupitSaSulit Ideas

James Reid

Summer’s at its peak, and while everyone surely has a bucket list to complete, there are many of us crunching the numbers and wondering if our budgets can take it. So for those of us who need it, here are some #LupitSaSulit ideas for a summer that doesn’t break the bank:

  1. Daytrip to a beach with friends

If you’re in Manila, choose a beach in Zambales, Batangas, or anywhere nearby. With daytrip fees at around 200-300 pesos depending on the resort, it’s the ideal way to soak up the sun. You can even opt to pack your day with some action as you hop between different islands.

2. Go camping

For city bugs looking to escape and experience something totally different, and possibly thrilling for those not used to it, find a camping resort (maybe in Crystal Beach or Nagsasa Cove), where you can be one with nature.

3. Climb a mountain

There’s no better way to experience the beauty of the Philippines than by overlooking all of it at the top of a peak. Gather your buddies and stretch your legs, as you feel the thrill of reaching the summit and letting the view take your breath away.

4. Host a board game night

If you have a competitive spirit burning in you, bring out your childhood board games or some cards, and invite your friends for game night. There’s nothing like night wherein you go up against the people closest to you to keep your hearts pumping!

5. Marathon your favorite movies

For film fanatics, why not introduce your favorites to your friends with a movie marathon at home? Another alternative would be to binge the movies you all grew up watching, and recite the entire script line by line.

6. Learn how to skate or bike

Learning something new is always fun, especially if your friends can teach you. Once you get used to biking or skating without your training wheels, look up new and exhilarating tricks that you can also teach your friends!

7. Get cultured

Take a stroll around Intramuros, if you’re in Manila, and visit all the historic points to learn more about our collective past. If you live elsewhere, you can always visit nearby churches to find out about its unique characteristics and what it represents.

8. Learn a new language

These days, you don’t need to sign up for classes to learn something new. Download a free app or scour through YouTube for videos that can teach you how to speak and write Chinese, French, or whatever language you choose.

The folks at Mountain Dew know just what it’s like, and that’s why they introduced the new Mountain Dew Idol, an 8oz bottle of the tastiest citrus drink for just Php8. The #LupitSaSulit pack is just what we need to keep our cool in the heat of the sun.
