PHLPost releases Palarong Pambansa stamps

The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) released on Sunday commemorative stamps for the Palarong Pambansa opening.

The commemorative stamps focused on the eight sports out of the various activities that would be played during the Palarong Pambansa.

These were Boxing, Volleyball, Archery, Soccer, Gymnastics, Basketball, Cycling, and Badminton.

“We have decided to come up with postage stamps in order to feel the excitement and action of the sports in the Palarong Pambansa. Also, these postage stamps may somehow inspire people especially the youth to engage in physical education and learn the values inherent in sports”, Postmaster General Joel Otarra said in a statement.

The Palarong Pambasa is a weeklong activity participated by student-athletes from 17 regions across the country.

PHLPost printed a limited copy of the generic and personalized sheets for the commemorative stamps with a selling price of P150.

However, PHLPost said that the public could buy the stamps per piece for the amount of P17.

The commemorative stamps are available at the Central Post Office and post offices nationwide. /cbb
