We have a restaurateur friend who finds new and interesting places for us to try. Her recent discovery is an outlet in a mall that serves food rarely found in such places.
Rico Rico is at Food on Four, the food court on the fourth floor of SM Aura Premier in Taguig.
Dining area—This food court is not as cramped and crowded like the others. The tables and chairs are comfortably distanced from each other. Rico Rico is on an island and proclaims its specialties as “Paellas and Tapas.”
Well and good, we are all fans of Spanish cuisine.
Service—The kitchen was efficient. Our orders came in quick succession—a welcome departure from the usual tedious waiting for the paella.
Staff—They are apparently shared with other outlets as we noticed them flitting from one eatery to another. Anyway we found them efficient.
Suggested orders—We chose two kinds of paella, black and vegetable. They came in a two-in-one paellera. We also ordered Callos. We gave our thumbs-up to the Spanish rice, the black had the fresh taste of squid and the vegetable was full of natural flavors, quite healthy. The Callos had soft slices of tripe in tomato-based sauce.
We had a very delicious lunch of Iberian specialties at a much lower price than if we had dined in a fine dining restaurant.
Service and government charges are included in the bill. Senior cards are honored.
