GNR’s PH Arena concert tickets, the cheapest at P800, go on sale June 9

Guns N’ Roses

At a new club in Makati, a guest was waiting his turn at the toilet whose door was locked. When the door opened, out came the notorious social media lackey of a losing candidate in the 2016 elections, along with two companions.

Upon exiting the men’s room, the guest once more saw the lackey, this time entering the ladies’ room, with three women in tow, and locking the door.

Lackey and his patron are both known to be heavy cocaine users.

Advanced ticket sales

MMI Live has announced advanced ticket sales to the Guns N’ Roses concert to be held Nov. 11 at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.

The local GNR fan club will have exclusive access to pre-sale tickets on June 8, from 10 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. through www.ticketworld.com.ph and www.smtickets.com.

For the general public, tickets will be available on June 9, starting 10 a.m. at Ticketworld and SM Tickets outlets, or on www.ticketworld.com.ph and www.smtickets.com.

The concert is expected to draw a large crowd for two reasons:

First, the band’s Filipino fans will see guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan playing with frontman Axl Rose for the first time since Slash and McKagan left GNR in 1997.

Second, the popular ticket prices—the cheapest, the Upper Box B sides, are selling for P800 each; and the most expensive, VIP (Platinum), still reasonable at P14,850.

Good Guys Steak & Jazz

Singer Joey San Andres who, until a few months ago, had been running the resto-bar Primos at the Greenfield District in Mandaluyong, has decided to operate a new place called Good Guys Steak & Jazz in Quezon City—at the same spot that GoodFellas Steaks & Burgers used to occupy.

On opening night last May 26, I saw that the menu still contains all GoodFellas items, especially the steaks and burgers.

Apparently, San Andres, with business partners Al Tantay, Ali Forbes, Bobot Mortiz, and Brando Viernesto are leasing the place but have retained the GoodFellas menu, with the added treat of holding live gigs.

San Andres’ own group, Joey San Andres and the Mailbox, will play as the house band on Saturday nights.
