More and more people have been speaking out against United States President Donald Trump’s “zero tolerance” immigration policies, which saw thousands of young immigrant children and babies separated from their parents and detained inside cage-like shelters at the United States-Mexico border.

The ordeal has compelled manifold writers and personalities to take to Twitter to air their grievances, but it seems they’ve become even more enraged after a certain tweet was made by presidential daughter Ivanka Trump today, June 21.

Trump apparently addressed her father in her tweet, wherein she thanked him for his critical action.

“Thank you @POTUS for taking critical action ending family separation at our border,” wrote Ivanka. “Congress must now act + find a lasting solution that is consistent with our shared values; the same values that so many come here seeking as they endeavor to create a better life for their families.”

Her statement wasn’t taken lightly by critics on Twitter. Bill Prady, American television writer and producer known for “The Big Bang Theory” and “The Muppets”, replied to her with a scathing tweet.

“Thank you for ending the horror that he started? Thank you for proving he was a liar when he said that only Congress could stop this?” asked Prady. “Thank you for signing an order that won’t stand up in court? What exactly should we thank him for, @IvankaTrump?”

Robert Maguire, American illustrator and fine artist, also had some sharp words for Ivanka.

Maguire wrote today, “After days of radio silence, a senior White House official whose portfolio includes family issues breaks her silence to thank the president for ending a crisis he created (family separation) and initiating another one (detaining families tougher, indefinitely).”

Ivanka serves as advisor to her father’s administration, specifically on economic empowerment and workforce development. Her husband Jared Kushner is Senior Advisor to the President.

Author Geraldine DeRuiter also called out Ivanka on Twitter: “You realize he was the one who started the family separation, right? And that his administration (OF WHICH YOU ARE A PART) has been planning this from the start?”

DeRuiter added in a follow up tweet that the bill Trump was referring to pertained to one that would keep immigrant families together by jailing them — children included.

“This is currently against the law,” wrote DeRuiter. “She wants Congress to vote to make it legal to ignore due process for families and children.”

Emmy and Grammy Award-winning comedian Kathy Griffin also had something to say to Ivanka: “Like I said…. @iamsambee was too kind. You awful, awful woman.”

Fellow comedian Samantha Bee called Ivanka a “feckless c*nt” last May in her segment “Full Frontal with Samantha Bee” and told her to do something about her father’s immigration policies.

Dan Pfeiffer, journalist and former senior adviser to President Barack Obama, on the other hand, told Trump, “YOU DON’T THANK THE KIDNAPPER FOR RELEASING THE HOSTAGES.”

Thus far, more than 2,300 immigrant children have been separated from their parents at the border since May. JB
