Japan Ambassador and Ms Koji Haneda hosted the concert of Hiroko Kokubo, a famous Japanese jazz pianist who has played in several international events, including the Jakarta Jazz Festival (Indonesia) and the Catalina Island Jazz Festival (US).

Kokubo delighted the audience with pieces from her albums which celebrate her Japanese roots, and crowd favorites such as the Beatles’ “Hard Day’s Night.”

Attendees were so enthused by her performance, they stomped their feet and clapped their hands as she played. Ramon Jacinto joined in on the fun and sang two songs.

It was truly an enjoyable and fun occasion filled with warm melodies and good company.–CONTRIBUTED
