US’ 4th of July bash is all about ‘friends, partners, allies’

The Rizal Ballroom of the Makati Shangri-La was packed recently for the 242nd Independence Day celebration of the United States. The theme revolved around “Friends, Partners, Allies.”

Since the 4th of July is not only American Independence Day but also Philippine-American Friendship Day, US Ambassador Sung Kim talked about the shared values and sacrifices of Filipinos and Americans.

Foreign Secretary Allan Peter Cayetano, in his speech, affirmed the strong ties between the two countries.
