Organo and Villamor at Power plant

Galerie Joaquin brings together two rising masters in “Parsing Charm: A Showcase of Modern Abstractions.” Works by glass sculptor Marge Organo and abstractionist Ombok Villamor will be showcased at the North Court of Power Plant Mall in Makati City, Aug. 8-12, with the artist reception slated Aug. 12, 4 p.m.

Cited as one of “The 8 Notable Artists” of the year last ManilArt 2017, Organo is an artist the art community has been keeping close tabs on. With her angular abstract glass forms, she manages to incorporate different figurations that play with diffused light.
In this manner, Organo succeeds in making light bend through various refractions and reflections in ways that seem almost implausible.

Villamor meanwhile has gained recognition from a variety of award-giving bodies, including being a finalist in the Non-Representational Category at the 2015 GSIS (Government Service Insurance System) Art Competition, and a semifinalist in the Oil Category of the 2002 Art Petron National Student Art Competition.

“Parsing Charm: A Showcase of Modern Abstractions” presents a set of artists with flair, along with a broad range of perspectives. –CONTRIBUTED
