35 hairstylists graduate as part of Davines Creative Stylists

MANILA, Philippines – It was a night of sharing passion, talent, and creativity as 35 hairstylists from top salons all over the metro graduated as part of the new roster of Davines Creative Stylists.

This year, The Davines Creative Style Academy graduation gala was held at The Blue Leaf Cosmopolitan last July 5, 2018.

Before making it to their spotlight moment at the graduation rites, the lucky hairstylists went through a 2-month intensive training program of the Davines Creative Style Academy.

The Davines Creative Style Academy does not only offer courses to enhance the technical skills of its students, but it offers a wholistic training with the goal of uplifting the standards of the present hair industry.

Part of the training consists of Personality Development and Presentation Skills.
Through this, the students were able to identify their passions as well as share their inspiring personal experiences which led them to this industry. Workshops were also conducted to enhance their confidence and to teach them how to communicate their ideas better.

The technical training was facilitated by Davines Philippines Master Trainers before their grueling final exam in cut and colour. During their final exam, the technical application and execution of their unique creations were graded by the Education Directors of Allilon, a renowned International hair education group from the UK.

Not only is Davines an internationally sought after salon brand with products known to be respectful of nature, but it continuously strives to educate others on the fragility of our natural resources and the responsibility we have in protecting it for future generations. Thus, the students presented unique creations under the theme of WATER, AIR and EARTH. This theme was inspired by the Sustainable Beauty mission of Davines.

Their unique creations were presented on stage for the last part of the exam. The presentation skills exam was graded on the spot by a selected group of panelists. The students had to present and describe their inspiration to the panelists in front of an audience of 1000. It was nerve-racking and exhilarating at the same time for the students.

As the grades were being computed, the team from Allilon Education also showcased their latest collection, Fumage. Beautiful models awed the audience with unique hair creations made with precision cutting and creative color which Allilon is famous for.

As the gala drew to a close, each student was given an international certificate of completion and were proudly declared as the new batch of Davines Creative Stylists.
Of course, like any academy, there will always be top students who excelled. Five students who garnered the highest academy grades in cut, colour and presentation skills were awarded on stage to conclude the graduation rites. The top graduates are Louie Cruz of Jesi Mendez Robinsons Galleria, Kezia Sumbillo of South Salon, Marivic Peña of South Salon, Jhay Sorela of Salon de Matt Makati and Ariel Apolto of David’s Salon Marquee Mall. These top students will have a chance to vie for a slot to represent our country in the prestigious Davines World Wide Hair Tour 2019 which will be held in Reykjavik, Iceland.
