Opt for the shade closer or deeper than your natural lip color.

Nude lipstick usually connotes the opaque, wishy-washy look—very ’90s.

As a makeup artist for the past eight years, I would always hear clients rant about nude shades making them look ashen. But it’s a big misconception that we need a shade that is exactly like our skin tone. It’s time we bust that myth.

The right nude lipstick means it matches the natural color of your lips, not your skin. Matching a nude lipstick with your skin tone will make you look ghostly.

But finding the right nude lipstick can be difficult. Fortunately, Maybelline Inti-Matte Nude Browns are here to save the day.

I’ve tried a lot of nude lipsticks, but this selection fits the bill—from formulation, price and consistency, down to its long-lasting quality. I’d recommend the range any day.

Mix two or three shades and create your personal hue.

How do you find the right nude shade for yourself?

Go natural. Opt for the shade closer or deeper than your natural lip color. Again, remember to match it with your lip color, not with your complexion.

Mix and match. If you want a variation, mix two or three shades and create your personal hue.

Try and try. Sample as many shades as you like until you find the one that best suits you. Make sure to apply the samples on bare lips so you don’t get confused.

Maybelline Inti-Matte Nude lipstick is available in all SM Beauty and Watsons stores.

Go natural.
