Assembly is streetwear that is definitely not run of the mill. The new retail concept store, which has four outlets around the metro, features an A-Z directory (from UK menswear brand Adyn to French footwear label Zespa Aix-en-Provence) of global clothing lines that are soon to become favorites among society’s fashionable set.
To be You recently visited Assembly’s Power Plant Mall branch and had a great time putting together these five looks.
Artisanal streetwear
Created in 2016, the Japanese label remakes vintage clothes with lace, resulting in one-of-a-kind finds with a playful vibe.
Hoodie love
Streetwear meets avant-garde in Wood Wood, a contemporary Danish brand founded in 2002 by former students of Denmark’s Royal Design School. The label boasts collaborations with Adidas, Nike, New Balance, Converse and Fred Perry, among others.
Ode to Americana
A play on the words “Hollywood” and “hooligan,” N. Hollywood offers edgy, retro-inspired iterations of menswear. Japanese creative director Daisuke Obana developed his quirky aesthetic from buying used clothes in Hollywood, then adding things to them to come up with something totally new.
Head-to-toe denim
Another standout piece from Furugi-ni-Lace is this sports jacket, reconstructed into a denim jacket and worn over wide-leg pants.
Happy camper
Bask in the great outdoors or, in this case, the urban jungle, in this camper-inspired look. This khaki polo shirt with cropped trousers cuts a masculine silhouette, but achieves a balance with feminine lace detailing.
