What was supposed to be a quick run to a store turned out to be his luck, as a man who got rained out while mowing his lawn won $10 million (almost P540 million) in his local lottery.

Charles Martin thought he could stop by a local store in Virginia, USA. This was after he mowed the lawn, but decided to stop after it rained too hard last Sept. 12.

While at the store, he decided if he could try his luck in a few lottery games. Martin then played the Extreme Millions Scratcher game,  where he won the jackpot.

“I scratched it and I about had a heart attack!” he said of his winning moment. He even had to double check it to the store owner, whom he recalled saying: “Oh, it must be a good one because I can’t pay it!”

“It’s a dream come true,” Martin said. “It’s something that I’ve always dreamed about. I’ve seen other people on TV win that kind of money but never thought it would be me.”  /ra
