The worlds of art and business don’t usually meet, and while some dabble in both, oftentimes they have to focus on one or the other. But every so often, someone rises up to excel in both. Erzil is an artist at heart, with a passion for creating striking color abstracts when she was a young grade school student in O.B. Montessori. Secretly wanting to go to art school for college but ended up taking Accountancy at De La Salle University, the artist inside her took a backseat while she excelled in her chosen course, and eventually, profession.
After graduating and passing her board exams, Erzil became an auditor for a large audit firm. She then continued her profession for a telecommunications giant before becoming a manager in a multi-national cement company. Currently she is an executive in one of the most respected and largest power company in the country. Still, the embers glowed. Her fire was stoked to a fury when she met a fellow artist in her current job, Lani Anastacio. Painting together on her free days, a decade worth of pent-up creativity burst forth.
Reserving weekends and a few hours after work to put thought to canvas, Erzil paints with an intensity matched only by her passion in the corporate world. Erzil explained, “I’ve done paintings for friends in the corporate world and I just enjoy the use of vibrant, happy, lively colors that exude positive energy, calms the mood and hopefully, brings the viewer to a happy place. It’s therapeutic. I like to spread the good vibes!”
While painting is still not a full-time gig for the talented artist, it is more than a hobby. Erzil is ready to showcase her art to the world!
Erzil Kho-Morales will be participating in an art fair titled “ART and Vintage PARE” which opens on Oct 12-14 at Capital Commons Information Center.
