How Margie Moran became a ‘princess of peace’ | Lifestyle.INQ

OCTOBER 27, 2022

Your mantra for the week: “As I keep my negative emotions in check, my desires manifest more quickly.”

People do not realize how oftentimes they behave negatively. Even good people attract bad karma despite not doing so-called “sinful” acts. I am presenting a list of emotional and mental states that people experience—without realizing that they are inducing future negative experiences through their adverse, gloomy states of mind.

Being ungrateful is probably a most common state of mind. Notice how often you complain while forgetting the things you can be grateful for.

When you criticize, you tend to focus on other people’s mistakes and weaknesses, instead of being grateful for your own strengths and positive qualities.

I suggest you start your day by saying, “Thank you for all my blessings,” affirming that whatever you are given to accomplish during the day is done quickly and in peace, that whatever you have to understand is revealed to you directly or indirectly, and whatever seems difficult is made easy.

When you are jealous or envious, it means your feelings of worthiness are in question. Being jealous is believing there is someone better who can take your place.

When you are envious, you underscore your feelings of lack and attract more of the same. When you envy someone’s good fortune, just mantra to yourself, “I am next,” until envy fizzles out.

There are 17 other states of mind which I will discuss in the next few weeks. Meantime, smile a lot, even when you are being negative or have to relay bad news.

2 birthday parties

Johnny Litton and Becky Garcia celebrate their birthdays from four to six months of the year.

Becky’s most recent bash was last month at Gela and Paul Cornelissen’s Fashion Interiors along Chino Roces Extension in Makati. Guests sang and danced all night. The party was hosted by George Sarakinis, who proudly dresses up Becky. “I am also her driver, butler and chef,” George quipped. As usual, Imelda Marcos was guest of honor.

Johnny’s own celebration was held at The Madison, a boutique mall of Joel and Joy Rustia. Most of the guests were from the south. The Madison is near the entrance to Alabang Hills.

In attendance were Ito Curata and Bob Miller, who continuously teases me that “no one was arrested during martial law, according to JPE.” (Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile’s acronym now means Joke Po Eto.) Also present were Rene and Ann Puno, as well as lovely Cory Quirino.

Joey says The Madison was put up to provide respite from the hassle of the crowded city, with good food and shopping options.

Many visitors likewise enjoy The Madison’s free Zumba classes, currently a hot fitness craze. There are also special bazaars and weekend markets that constantly draw a crowd.

The Rustias’ La Vie En Rose Café and Bar on the second level is a popular ballroom dancing venue. On the third level is an events place that accommodates 180 people for occasions like weddings, because of its proximity to the Italian-inspired church, The Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.

To top it off is a food courtyard, The South District, where guests can sip wine at sunset.

Most well-attended event

The most well-attended event this week was hosted by Korean Ambassador to the Philippines Han Dong-Man and wife Jang Sookyung to celebrate  South Korea’s National Day, which also served as Armed Forces Day to honor the men and women who took part in the Korean War in 1950.

Present were Korean-born American Ambassador Sung Kim, Columbian Ambassador Víctor Echeverri Jaramillo and wife Patricia, Israeli Ambassador Rafael Harpaz and wife Shulamit, and Swedish Ambassador Harald Fries with Philippine-born wife Susan.

Likewise seen was Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, who does not socialize often, a low-key Joe de Venecia, as well as Ambassador Victor and Connie Garcia.

Cheers to to Ambassador Han! Korea is, of course, also massively popular among TV audiences worldwide for the addicting Korean drama series.

Margie Moran’s dinner

Margie Moran celebrated her birthday with an intimate dinner with friends, whom she did not know were no longer “really” friends with each other.

But everyone behaved primly and properly. Margie is now being teased as princess of peace.

‘Collusion’

At the rate Solicitor General Jose Calida has unwittingly turned Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV into a hero and a potential candidate for president, many are beginning to laughingly suspect there is a “collusion” between the two—and their victim is, who else, President Duterte.
