Miss Globe Philippines 2018 Michele Gumabao looked stunning in her golden sarimanok-inspired national costume for Miss Globe 2018.
Designer Nat Manila described the costume as “sheer tulle pencil cut with knee high slit and ballskirt train modern Filipiniana with fully embellished hand embroidery details inspired by golden sarimanok” in an Instagram post on Thursday.
In a separate post by the designer, Gumabao shared that Manilag was also her designer for Binibining Pilipinas where she was named Binibining Pilipinas Globe.
The 26-year-old beauty queen also expressed her fondness of the beautiful gown: “Sarimanok is very popular with national costumes in the Philippines and it’s very bongga because it’s gold. And I just fell in love with it the first time I saw it,” she said.
Gumabao is set to compete in Miss Globe 2018 on October 21 at Tirana, Albania. /je
