Suffering from hair fall? A minute with a serum-infused conditioner may help fix that.
Such is the claim of Dove 1-Minute Serum Conditioner, the personal care brand’s latest product, which is described as “potent, fortified and fast-acting.” It is intended to heal hair that has been damaged by coloring, perming and rebonding, and to strengthen weak hair.
Fit for daily use, Dove
1-Minute Serum Conditioner is the “next generation in hair conditioning,” assistant brand manager Nicole Ty said at the recent launch at Mind Museum.
There are three variants. Intense Repair (blue) is for damaged hair; Hair Fall Rescue (green) is for fragile hair; and Nourishing Oil Care (copper) is for extra dry and frizzy hair. All are created to penetrate deep into the 10 layers of the strand to revive hair from the roots, Ty added.
Technology
At the makeshift Dove Lab, the Unilever research and development group led by Angelie Torre and Chommapat Mettaprasert showed us how they came up with the serum technology.
“Our study showed that women prefer using serum to improve their skin quality, so we created a counterpart product for the hair,” Torre said. “Dove 1-Minute Serum Conditioner combines the power of serum capsules with ‘Keratin Repair Actives’ to undo a year’s worth of hair damage in just one minute.”
Torre and her team created “serum capsules” to nourish the hair—a blend of argan oil, almond oil, coconut oil, sunflower seed oil and vitamin E. They also developed the Keratin Repair Actives technology that fills in broken hair bonds to strengthen it.
Dove and Creations by Lourd Ramos set up a pop-up salon at Mind Museum for us to try the new product. Our takeaway: It left the hair delicately fragrant and bouncy, and is perfect for super dry hair. Those with oilier scalps may alternate it with a regular conditioner for when the hair is really parched.
Dove 1-Minute Serum Conditioner is at supermarkets, and online on Lazada, Shopee, BeautyMNL, Calyxta.
