Stolen inflatable colon recovered by police from vacant home

Police from Kansas City announced on Monday, Oct. 29, that they retrieved the inflatable colon which was reported stolen a week before.

Previously, the Colon Cancer Coalition said that the inflatable colon was stolen on Oct. 18 in Brooklyn, Missouri. However, the coalition was able to raise funds to buy two colons to replace the one that got lost.

The official Twitter page of the Kansas City Police announced they have recovered the colon, thanks to a tip to authorities. The “giant, inflatable, pilfered intestine” was found in a vacant house located in the 7100 block of Virginia.

Netizens then expressed their humorous thoughts about the news, such as journalist and blogger Jenny Lawson (@TheBlogess) who said: “So they just dumped it? What a sh*tty thing to do.”

One Dr. Janet Williams (@jamawill) had this to say about the case: “Well that came out okay in the end.”

And @aboltoflightnin took the opportunity to share a joke: “Looks like it’s only half of a colon, nay, a semi-colon.”

While the stolen colon has finally been retrieved, police said they are still investigating the crime. JB
