Reese Witherspoon, Tracee Ellis Ross join Michelle Obama’s book tour

Michelle Obama has announced the VIP guests set to join her on the book tour for her upcoming memoir, with Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Tracee Ellis Ross and Sarah Jessica Parker among them.

The former First lady is set to head out on a 12-city, 10-date United States tour next month in support of her book “Becoming” which is likewise out next month.

She has now revealed the full roster of esteemed, multi-hyphenate women joining her along the way, beginning with media mogul and superstar Oprah Winfrey at the tour’s first stop in Chicago.

From there, she’ll welcome actress Tracee Ellis Ross, businesswoman and Barack Obama’s former senior advisor Valerie Jarrett, poet and playwright Elizabeth Alexander, comedian-writer-actress Phoebe Robinson, journalist Michelle Norris, actress-producer-entrepreneur Reese Witherspoon and actress-producer-designer Sarah Jessica Parker.

Among the invitees to express their excitement on social media were Ellis Ross, who called Obama “the incredible force of nature that I am proud to call my friend,” and Robinson, who referred to her as “one of my newest & dearest friends.”

“Becoming”, which is said to touch on Obama’s childhood, her balancing of motherhood and work, and her time in the White House, will be published in the U.S. on Nov. 13, the day the tour gets underway. JB
