Megaworld is bringing its signature township to Pampanga, the country’s culinary capital.

Known for its rich history and culture, Pampanga, in the south-central part of Central Luzon, is the melting pot of Northern Luzon.

This is where Megaworld chose to weave a thread of modernity as it unveiled its plan for a 35.6-hectare township in San Fernando called Capital Town. As in other developments of the real estate company, it will promote the live-work-play lifestyle.

There will be theme residences, a diverse selection of commercial and retail outlets, and office buildings.

New business district

Megaworld’s Capital Town will be built as the premier business district of the north. It will mirror the successful Megaworld townships of McKinley Hill, Uptown Bonifacio, Eastwood City and Newport City.

“Just like how it transformed townships to vibrant lifestyle destinations as we know them today, Megaworld will rise in the north through Capital Town,” said Eugene Em Lozano, first vice president for sales and marketing, Megaworld Makati and Pampanga.

The township will have a six-hectare shophouse district. The retail section will have an Art Deco aesthetic, with flourishes of neoclassical design, Lozano said.

Pampanga is also known for its arts and crafts, so Capital Town will house an events trade hall and an outdoor amphitheater to showcase the arts. This feature is similar to the township in Iloilo, which has a museum and business park.

Residential development

Its first residential development in Capital Town is the 12-story Chelsea Parkplace, inspired by the neighborhood of Chelsea in New York City.

The condo development takes design cues from the famed brownstone apartment buildings in Manhattan, where Chelsea is located.

“We’re launching Chelsea Parkplace as the flagship condominium project to pioneer the integrated township experience in the north,” Lozano said. “Its ideal location in the middle of the township will give future residents the front-row seat advantage of seeing the growth and development in the area.”

From Chelsea Parkplace, unit owners have a view of Casa de Emperador, Central Square, the museum and mall, and the shophouse district, Lozano added.

The studio units measure 31 sq m, one bedroom units up to 45.5 sq m, and two-bedrooms, up to 88 sq m. All 193 units of the project will have balconies offering varied township views.

Amenities include a retail area on the upper ground floor, swimming pool, events hall, daycare, fitness center, and “The Other Room,” a first-of-its-kind speakeasy bar for future residents to celebrate special occasions and other festivities. –CONTRIBUTED
