Wake up every day with a grateful heart! Today is 11.11.18, the most cosmic and magical day of the year. Remember to offer an intention, and to align all positive energies your way at exactly 11:11 a.m.

My travel and prayer partner, Rosan Cruz, reveals more information about this cosmic number, 11:11. It is the number of insight, inspiration, illumination and intuition. It communicates that the universe is ready to give blessings, if you are ready to receive them. And conversely, the universe is ready to receive your intentions if you are ready to give them.

As a Kundalini yoga guru and gong bath master, Rosan practices the art of sound and energy to heal the body and cleanse the spirit. She is also organizing an elevating evening of divine Kirtan music.

Renowned international sacred chant artist and teacher Satkirin Kaur Khalsa will be in Manila for a sacred sound current healing session. Satkirin’s voice has been described as deeply devotional, and she approaches her singing as a unique fusion of Latin and world rhythms with Western and Indian classical raga. Her music creates an effective means of healing the body through the soul, and transports listeners into a deep experience of spirituality.

Satkirin has released 19 Kirtan albums, and is regularly featured on her internationally broadcast show “Jus Punjabi” on Time Warner Cable Network.

The Sacred Chant Night Kirtan will be at 7 p.m., on Nov. 12 at the Entheos Room, 4/F, Henry Sy Hall, Assumption College in San Lorenzo Village, Makati City. Tickets are available for P1,000 at the door.

Broadway songs

From healing sound to beautiful music comes a delightful evening of Broadway and Christmas songs. Rony Fortich, my favorite former music director from Disneyland, will be having a concert at 8 p.m. on Nov. 21 at the Maybank Theater.

The show also features Gian Magdangal, Sweet Plantado-Tiongson, Ring Antonio and Josh Tiu. The ensemble will sing Broadway and Christmas songs, with a touch of Disney.

Tickets are available through ticketworld.com.ph; call 8919999.

Cecile Licad

For those who prefer a more classic style of music, check out the upcoming concert of world-renowned pianist Cecile Licad. “Cecile Licad: I Love Chopin” will be an all-Chopin piano recital at 7 p.m. on Nov. 27 at the Main Lounge of Manila Polo Club. Come early, as cocktails start at 6 p.m.

“Cecile Licad: I Love Chopin” is coproduced by Chips Guevara and Nedy Tantoco, and is for the benefit of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra Society and Childhope Philippines Foundation, a street kids foundation. Childhope has helped over 10,000 street children since 1989, and continues to change their lives.

For tickets, call Chips Guevara at 0917-8103245 or e-mail chipsg@gmail.com.

Talking B.I.G.

I was recently the guest speaker at B.I.G. Talks—Build Inspire Give. It is a gathering of friends that inspires women to lead meaningful lives.

In sharing B.I.G. stories, select guest speakers lift women’s spirits with their wisdom and real-life experiences.

Martha Uy, one of B.I.G.’s founders, invited me to share my life story on a topic that was truly tailor-made for me: “Nobody Nobody But You!” Martha told me that the audience of 80 ladies of various ages and professions was their largest so far, and I was thrilled to retell my stories with them.

The B.I.G. ladies are Martha, Frieda Lim, Susan Syquia, Marilen Espiritu, Marienne Pimentel, Cecile Limjuco, Maricar Xerez Burgos, Penny Katigbak, Patty Olbes and Binky Caral.

For the talk, I wore the special cape that fashion designer Ditta Sandico-Ong created for me at the auction segment of last month’s Red Charity Gala (RCG). The colorful cape is called banaca, the exclusively woven fabric that Ditta had made in Bicol. It was a perfect complement to my intricately detailed gown created by RCG featured designer Rajo Laurel.

Rajo’s impressive collection of 92 uniquely styled masterpieces was created as a showcase of the designer’s 25 years in the fashion industry. It was his interpretation of the Filipino spirit in woven fabrics, beaded laces and bejeweled embroideries. His capsule collection of men’s wear was equally impactful.

At the lobby of the Marriott Grand Ballroom, our RCG car sponsor Ferrari was on display. It reminded us of how, just a few days earlier, the Ferrari Portofino was launched at The Cove Manila in Okada Manila.

Autostrada, official dealer for Ferrari in the Philippines, presented this stunning model in a grand reveal.

The Ferrari Portofino launch also marked a major milestone for Autostrada and Ferrari with the announcement of a new partnership with Udenna, headed by business titan Dennis Uy.

This partnership marks a significant strategic alliance between Uy and Willie Soong, founder of Autostrada.

The Ferrari Portofino represents the perfect combination of luxury, versatility and on-board comfort in any vehicle. It had its global debut in Frankfurt last year, and the GT model has achieved great success since. Over a hundred VIP guests attended the launch.

Powered by the Ferrari V8 turbo, from the engine family that won the International Engine of the Year Award in 2016 and 2017, the new car boasts an ability to punch out 600cv and to sprint from 0 to 100 kph in just 3.5 seconds.

The Portofino is an aggressively styled car with a two-box, fastback configuration—unprecedented in a coupe-convertible with a retractable hard top. This successfully adds extra sleekness to its silhouette.

And it can all be summed up simply: the Ferrari Portofino is the most powerful convertible that Ferrari has ever produced.
