The fashion industry is a place where only the best and smartest survive. Fashion designers have to be creative and produce something new every season. They also have to have business savvy, especially in the age of social media.
We live in a world where only a few brands have thrived in e-commerce, bringing the hot new trends straight to your doorstep. I believe it’s all about being true to yourself. When everything is Photoshopped and easily manipulated through filters and presets, the authentic one shines through.
Survival of the fittest
I set up the fashion industry like it’s a such a crazy place to be in and only the fittest survive. I feel like it’s true. One designer, Rosanna Ocampo, can testify to this.
“RO x Into the Wild” is an apt title for Ocampo’s celebration of her 10 years in the industry. With her vision and curiosity, she has survived a decade in the industry. Her clothes have been staples for the fashionable set. She has also been a source of guidance for budding talents.
Ocampo takes her inspiration from different art forms and experiences. Travel is a recurring theme. She thinks of women who are busy and want the most out of life—women who pursue what they desire but also know when to stop to enjoy the little things that matter.
Not your usual show
True to Ocampo’s creative flair, “RO x Into The Wild” wasn’t your usual show.
At Flame Restaurant, guests, friends and members of the media got a glimpse of Ocampo’s imagination through interactive stations, like the Ultherapy photo booth and the Tumi travel station. Cocktails and spirits fueled the party all night long.
On Nov. 15, Ocampo released her holiday collection (check out her Instagram: @Rosannaocampo_rod).
Congratulations, Rosanna! Here’s to the next 10 years.
