A 77-year-old Maryland grandmother got lucky as she won $10,400 (around P545,000), which was her first try at lottery.
The unidentified woman, who goes by the moniker “Lucky Grandma,” told lottery officials on Nov. 15 that she strictly played scratch-off tickets, but had a hunch that Lady Luck would strike that day.
“I usually only play scratch-offs once or twice a week,” she said. “But my friends are all fans of the horses so I decided to give it a try.”
The grandmother chose her winning numbers, and placed her bet on a $2 Superfecta on the Racetrax virtual horse racing game. “I was just shocked, I couldn’t believe it,” she said about her luck.
What does she plan to do with the winnings? Pay her monthly bills and take her family on holiday shopping, she said. /ra
