If you’re looking for streetwear that is anything but run of the mill, check out Assembly.

The newest retail concept store, already with four outlets around the metro, boasts an A-Z directory of global clothing lines, from UK menswear brand Adyn to French footwear label Zespa Aix-en-Provence.

To be You recently visited Assembly’s Power Plant Mall branch and had a great time putting together five looks.

Teddy bear tee

Teddy bear tee, Tonsure; belt, Mihara Yasuhiro

Danish brand Tonsure was created by Malte Flagstad, a graduate of Central Saint Martins and former designer for  Martin Margiela. With its Scandinavian sensibilities, the brand balances a strong sense of design and imaginative flair, as seen in the teddy bear fur used  in most of the pieces.

Baggy affair

Statement sweater, Wood Wood; baggy elephant pants with folded-up finish, Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini

A staple of the ’70s, elephant pants are making a big comeback—pun intended. This time around, the wide-legged silhouette from decades past gets a modern, street-chic look.

Slim pickings

Purple bomber jacket, Kent and Curwen; olive tee, Mister Gentleman Japan; skinny chinos, Assembly Korea

A more relatable silhouette is the skinny, body-fit look. Try  an unconventional color combination of olive and khaki with purple for a striking statement.

Earn your stripes

Striped tee, Mister Gentleman Japan

Loose silhouettes reflect the strong influence of the ’90s these days. This striped tee  looks very much in trend and will most likely last beyond the seasons.

Best foot forward

Sneakers, Axel Arigato

These days, the sought-after sneakers are by Swedish brand Axel Arigato. With their clean and simple designs, these shoes can be worn with anything every day.
