SEOUL—Director Ahn Gil-ho praised EXO member Chanyeol during the press conference in Gangnam, Nov. 28.
“He is a great actor. Most importantly, he is the best fit in the character of Jung Se-joo. His character grew in the drama,” said Ahn. “He connects all the characters in the story.”
Chanyeol plays the role of Park Shin-hye’s little brother in Netflix Originals’ “Memories of the Alhambra.” The drama used the element of augmented reality. It is said that it is the first of its kind in a Korean drama. It was written by Song Jae-jung who also wrote the dramas “Nine” and “W.”
Parts of the drama were shot in Alhambra, Spain, for one month. It stars Hyun-bin as Yoo Jin-woo, an investment film executive, and Park Shin-hye as Jung Hee-joo, a classical guitar player and hostel owner.
Shin-hye describes the EXO member as a very passionate actor. She said, “He holds the key in the story and I look forward to seeing him.”
Chanyeol, who celebrated his birthday last Tuesday, was absent from the press conference. The singer and boygroup member’s other works include “So I married an anti-fan” and “Exo Next Door.”
