WATCH: Catriona Gray boasts Philippines’ rich culture in new video

MANILA, Philippines — A week before she goes on the international stage to vie for the Miss Universe crown, Miss Philippines 2018 Catriona Gray dropped a video boasting of the country’s rich culture.

In a video titled “This is the Philippines” released Sunday, Dec. 9, Gray toured parts of Luzon including Intramuros, Luneta, Pampanga and Rizal.

The 24-year-old beauty highlighted the Filipinos’ creativity by boasting of Rizal’s Higantes Festival and Pampanga’s colorful parols (lanterns).

Gray also boasted of the joyful Christmas celebration in the Philippines saying, “Us Filipinos love Christmas so much, that we have the longest Christmas season in the world.”

“Seeing lights being put up along the street and these colored lanterns called parols being put up at people’s houses makes Christmas in Philippines magical,” she added.

Aside from the country’s art, the beauty queen from Albay emphasized the Filipinos’ hospitality and love for food.

“We Filipinos bond over food, music dance and shares stories. And to Filipinos, no matter who you are and where you come from, you always have an invitation to the celebration,” she said.

Gray will try to win the country’s fourth Miss Universe crown this coming December 17 at the Impact, Muang Thong Thani, Bangkok, Thailand. /cbb
