For mother-daughter Rina Go and Nicole Thorp, food and fashion inevitably go together. These are two things they are most passionate about.
And that was how Nic’s Café (named after Nicole) started—a seamless fusion of fashion and food, visually and more. One enters their newly opened café at Park Terraces, Makati, to see very chic interiors channeling the style icons of various generations such as Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn, alongside a huge mural by Ena Sison.
It is reminiscent of Parisian and New York cafés—a place with a cozy yet cosmopolitan vibe, designed by interior designer Ivy and Cynthia Almario.
The café has indeed grown from its humble beginnings in 2001, when it was a commissary making pastries for a coffee chain, and as a small establishment in San Juan in 2010.
From a simple range of cakes and pastries, its menu has grown to include a variety of Filipino and European specialties—comfort food, usually —ranging from roast turkey and chicken relleno to gourmet pasta and pizza, chocolate fudge cookies and cakes.
Lifestyle captures this elegant confluence of food and style.
Nic’s Café is at G/F Phase B, UP Town Center, Katipunan; Retail Space 6, G/L, Park Terraces, Palm Drive, Makati City
