Momoland promises better music next year

Momoland

You would think that Momoland would be sick of dancing “Bboom Bboom” by now. But Taeha danced the steps and sang the song while the rest of the members were being introduced during the press conference last Monday. This goes to show that the members enjoy the music they are producing.

This is the group’s second visit to the country. They are the only other K-pop group to return to the Philippines twice this year. The other one is boy group EXO. They are coming back next year for a fan meeting.

Momoland’s popularity in the Philippines came as a surprise for them, too. During the press conference in Novotel, host Kendra asked why they think they connect so well with Filipino Merries (fandom name).

“We are also very curious about this question.  We want to know why Momoland is so famous in the Philippines. I think it is because of the music.  Our music is so fun. We hope we could offer you with more exciting music next year,” said member Hyebin.

The group came to the country to do a free concert in Vigan. They also did a private meet-and-greet and a TV appearance. Maknae (youngest) member Nancy could not help but talk about the experience of spending time in the north of the country.

“We had a great time. We actually learned a lot about the culture of Vigan. They welcomed us so warmly,” said Nancy.

Momoland has nine members: Hyebin, Yeonwoo, Jane, Taeha, Nayun, Daisy, JooE, Ahin and Nancy. However, Nayun and Yeonwoo could not come with them for this trip. Their single “Bboom Bboom” became a viral hit among Filipinos. It became a staple at every occasion including Christmas parties.

 ‘Baam’

The group soon followed it with another hit song “Baam.” It became an instant hit especially since Nancy caught the attention of local fans when she carried the Philippine flag in their music video. The group promise to release more songs next year.

“We are really grateful for the unexpected love and support for our songs ‘Bboom Bboom’ and ‘Baam.’ To make up for it, we promise to work even harder and to return with better music that we can enjoy together,” said Daisy.

The group will spend the holiday season working as they will be participating in Christmas shows. But Hyebin made sure to share the group’s New Year’s resolution.

“For 2019, we hope to render more diverse and more exciting music for our Merries.  We also hope to be more popular and to reach out to more fans in other parts of the world,” said Hyebin.

The group’s visual and Filipino’s favorite member Nancy also made sure that she left a message for their supporters.

“Everyone be happy,” Nancy said.

Momoland’s fan meeting will be held Jan. 25 next year.  The event is organized by DnM Entertainment and YT E&M.  Tickets are available at all Ticketnet outlets and online starting today.
