Santa Claus is coming to SM Malls

Santa and well-loved holiday icons of SM’s Grand Magical Christmas Parade delight Caviteños at SM City Bacoor.

One of my favorite memories growing up is hanging a sock outside our terrace before Christmas day. I would always wake up ex-cited on Christmas morning and rush to where my sock was to check if Santa Claus dropped by the previous night to give me treats and he always did. Finding granny apples and chocolates from Santa Claus was the best thing ever.

Having no chimneys and living in a tropical country did not stop me from having my own Santa Claus experience in the Philippines. My parents made sure I did not miss out on this experience. I vowed that my daughter will not miss out on the same thing. The difference between then and now is that Santa Claus is more accessible than ever through the SM Supermalls where he does his rounds all over the Philippines.

They say he is making a list and checking it twice. And he will make wishes of 60 lucky kids true for Christmas time. All kids (and their parents) have to do is write to him through the #DearSMSanta mailbox found in the SM malls. The mailbox is most unique because it has a tablet and no paper will be needed to make that wish.

#DearSMSanta will ask for three wishes. Santa will also ask if the child has been very good, good, or sometimes good. This is an additional motivation to make a child behave for the Holiday season. The email address of the grownup will be asked.

The most popular way to meet Santa is of course the meet and greet sessions. He will make his rounds until Dec. 25 in all SM malls. Make the best out of the photo session by wearing your best Christmas outfit. Wear a matching garbs or dress in red. These pictures make great memories.

Santa Claus is already making his rounds. He has led the lighting of the Ferris-wheel-turned-Lantern of Hope in SM City Pampanga for a visual feast of lights, fireworks, and video mapping last December 1.

If you missed him then you can find him at the Mall of Asia’s giant inflatable Santa and his reindeer. You can also catch the entire Christmas gang at the Grand Magical Parade happening in SM South Luzon Malls everywhere where over 100 Christmas characters dance and prance and delight kids and their families.

Sweet hugs and kisses from Santa Claus!

There are a lot of reasons to go to SM Supermalls with your family this holiday season, but making memories with the family and Santa Claus is the best one of all!
