Duterte meets Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray
MANILA, Philippines – President Rodrigo Duterte met with Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray at the Villamor Airbase in Pasay City on Thursday.
The two shook hands and talked at the Kalayaan Hangar around 6:20 p.m.
Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo shared the photos of Duterte and the newly crowned Miss Universe to the media.
Duterte, who was in his usual collared shirt and black pants, gave flowers to Gray, who was wearing a black blazer.
Gray sat adjacent to Duterte during their talk.
“They are just exchanging pleasantries. He thanked her for bringing the crown. He said everybody is euphoric about her win,” Panelo said in a text message to reporters.
Gray bested 93 other beauties from around the world in the recently concluded Miss Universe 2018 held in Bangkok Thailand.
Gray is now the fourth Filipina to bag the Miss Universe crown after Pia Wurtzbach clinched the title in 2015, Margie Moran in 1973, and Gloria Diaz in 1969. /kga
