Some members of the police are grieving over a truck that caught fire and loaded with something that is close to their hearts—donuts.

The Lexington Police in Kentucky, United States, responded to a scene where a Krispy Kreme truck suddenly ignited on Monday, Dec. 31, WLEX-TV reported.

The report said the driver had noticed smoke coming out of his truck, and was able to get out of the vehicle safely.

While the driver was safe, the donuts placed in the back, however, perished in the flames. The local police department did not hide their loss, as shown in a Twitter post Tuesday, Jan. 1.

“No words,” the tweet captioned. The post garnered around 38, 240 retweets and 132, 117 likes, as of this writing.

Other police departments sent their condolences to the cops. “We feel your loss. We donut know what else to say,” the UK Police reached out.

The Toledo Police had some words of encouragement to say: “Hang in there, 2019 will get better.”

And the New York Police Department said they were ready to help, saying they were sending backup donuts. “We hope you like sprinkles,” the post of the police department quipped.  Katrina Hallare /ra
