It’s back to work again this 2019. Traffic is back, and the working Filipino barely has time for chores.

Honestbee, an online concierge and delivery service, rose in popularity two years ago with its easy-to-use app and network of groceries and restaurants. The app and website originated from Singapore, and has been in the country since 2017.

This year, Honestbee introduces their newest partner for premium grocery shopping, Marketplace by Rustan’s, known for their wide selection of local and international products.

Honestbee fans can now access items from Rustan’s supermarket with just a click of a mouse, or the tap of a finger.

“True to our promise of giving our customers the very best online grocery shopping experience, we’ve partnered with Marketplace, one of the country’s leading premium supermarkets. We’re proud and honored to have been chosen as their first online partner,” said Crystal Gonzalez, managing director of Honestbee Philippines, in an exclusive media event at BGC Arts Center.

‘Instagrammable’

The event launched the new partnership of Honestbee and Marketplace, and at the same time gave guests a chance to try out the grocery chain’s products. Media guests listened to a lecture by food stylist Chino Cruz on how to create the perfect “Instagrammable” food setup.

All the items used for the event were from Marketplace. The chain is known for international brands, which include Casino and Waitrose, known for cookies, cereals, jams and other pantry items.

The chain’s fresh gourmet offerings like vegetables, cheeses and charcuterie are also notable.

“Thanks to our partnership with Honestbee, we can give our valued customers a unique grocery experience and easier access to this extensive selection,” said Ana Punongbayan, assistant vice president for marketing of Marketplace.

In an earlier interview, Gonzales shared that Honestbee’s popularity and success are partly due to internet-savvy modern Filipinos. Everyone uses a smartphone nowadays.

“We get over a million visitors on the app and website every month. The reception really exceeded all our expectations. And that’s just in Metro Manila and Cebu City. We have services here in Luzon from as far as Lipa now, and we’re still continuing to expand our reach.” —CONTRIBUTED
