Seasoned hotelier Stephanie T. Chong has been named deputy general manager of Hermès in the Philippines. This was revealed by Mario Katigbak, Hermès general manager in the Philippines, this week.

Chong is a familiar presence in Philippine lifestyle as the executive of the Peninsula hotel chain for 19 years—in banquet and special events of Peninsula Manila for 17 years, and for the last two years, in marketing for Peninsula Tokyo.

These past years, she’s worked extensively with Hermès, Stores Specialists Inc., and Rustan’s in their milestone events and launches. The firms belong to the group founded and owned by the Tantoco family, the leading high-end retailer in the country.

A business management graduate of the University of Asia and the Pacific, Chong, a very stylish woman herself, is looking forward to working with the French luxury brand. “I’m actually excited to learn and work in various aspects of Hermès, from the merchandise selection to the marketing and relating to the clientele. I’m looking forward to attending the Fall-Winter 2019 showroom,” she told us over lunch last Tuesday.

She leaves with Katigbak and the Hermès group for Paris this month, her first trip for Hermès. —Thelma S. San Juan

Looking forward to attend the Fall-Winter 2019 showroom? I honestly didn’t know Manila has Fall and Winter season fashion.

  • aaa p zzz

The other day while running, a new model red Ferrari passed by me; this was a few minutes after I passed a guy living on the streets. Hermes bags can sell for more than a million Pesos… a homeless person can be fed and given a life for how much?

    LISTEN UP PHELIPENOS!
    UND LISTEN GUT!!

Yang mga sikat at mga mamahaling mga BRANDED names na mga yan??
Yang mga LEATHER BAGS na yan? Mga SHIRTS, BLOUSE, COUTURE, ETC ETC. ANO BA YAN??
Kundi TELA, LEATHER ~~ NA TINAAHI AT BINURDA??
THERE IS NOTHING TECHNICAL NOR SOPHISTICATED SCIENCE TO MANUFACTURE THAT!!
Tela or LEATHER lang yan. Na TINAHI ng mga skilled tailors.
They just spend mucho DINERO ON ADVERTISING. On HYPE. YES, IT HAS QUALITY. Definitely.
But QUALITY. insofar as SEWING FABRICS OR LEATHERS.. IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE.
They just invest on much HYPE. At kayo naman~~ parang mga thaa ngah.
(Dahil gosto nio den magpasiikat. SOSYAL KUNO). Those products were even sewn and tailored in some 3rd wrrld country, and workers getting paid cents on the dollar. GETTS NIO?

Here is the key. They produce a QUALITY product. Which does NOT take high sophisticated science to do, THEN THEY LOAD UP ON ADVERTISING, ON EXPENSIVE VENUES OR STINTS. Invest in HYPE.
THEN THEY REALLY PROMOTE THE NAME!! THE BRAND!!

Don’t tell me na HINDI nio kaya GUMAWA ng ganian??
EH TELA O LEATHER LANG YAN NA TINAHI??
    GETTS NIO MGA PELIFENOS?

KAHIIT KAYO KAYA NIO GUMAWA NG GANIAN.
But u have to remember~~ You would have to CREATE A SOPHISTICATED PALLETE so to speak sa LOCAL MARKET~~ BAGO KAYO PAPANSIININ NG MGA International market!!
BUT BECOMING a High Quality BRAND, That is born and bred and made in the Philippines~~ THAT IS DOABLE.
    DI BA?
Perfect example si Ben Chan. Si Cobonpwe, etc.
We need MORE of those examples.
Look at that, you rich people of the Philippines-U- SPEND HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS ON THOSE EUROPEAN BRANDS~~ Which u can DO and manufacture yourselves!!
It takes a SKILLED TAILOR, GOOD DESIGN, QUALITY PRODUCTS, AND A MASSIVE INVESTMENT IN ADVERTISING. Then when you are getting to top, then u can CHARGE like those Europishe brand companies.
Imagine, you’re spending all these money, at PINAPAYAAMAN NIO LANG MGA brands ng mga DAYUHAN NA WALA NANANH PAKI ALAM SA BNSA NIO~~ EXCEPT TO SELL THEIR WARES?
And u people are like zombies not knowing what’s going on??

As usual. Npka daami ko talaga dappat itturro senio mga Pelefinos.

Now, helpf your country. Ikalaat at I Sharre ang aking mga kommentos sa buoung Pilipinnas at sa mga importanteng tao at socialites sa Pilipinnas!!
    DO IT NOWW.
