Germany marks 28th year of reunification

Celebrating 28 years of German unity, the Embassy of Germany in Manila held a grand anniversary gathering at the ballroom of New World Makati Hotel.

The well-attended event was graced by Germany Ambassador Dr. Gordon Kricke, Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary Ma. Amelita Aquino, and other guests from business, political and cultural groups.

In his address, Ambassador Kricke emphasized the role of European integration in the road to German reunification, saying, “The foreign policy of Germany is committed to the promotion of democracy, the rule of law and human rights, free trade and the defense of a rules-based international
order.”

Guests enjoyed a delicious banquet of culinary specialties, perfectly paired with authentic Oktoberfest brew and excellent wines from German vineyards.
