Consummate host and socialite Mely Hechanova loved the movie “Mamma Mia” so much, she made it the theme of her birthday party.
It was reflected in the invitation, décor, flower arrangements, guests’ attire and giveaways. Mely celebrated with 120 guests at her birthday lunch, all dressed in bright colors and prints in keeping with the “Mamma Mia” theme, representing the range of her friends—elegant ladies of all ages, mostly long-time friends of the family.
The Hechanova residence in Makati was converted into an elegant Greek village anchored by two 20-foot-high indoor trees filled with bougainvillea and hanging tivoli bulbs and lights, and a newly built indoor trellis covered with bright fuchsia and orange variegated bougainvillea. On the long rectangular tables were a profusion of bright pink flowers.
While enjoying the lovely menu and array of desserts, guests was serenaded by six Ryan Cayabyab singers. The songs were from Mely’s favorite movie. –CONTRIBUTED
