A man in Wisconsin, United States got extremely lucky by earning a $350,000 (around P18.3 million) lottery win, all thanks to his pizza cravings.

Steve Allen told Wisconsin lottery officials that since he suddenly craved for pizza, he went out for a pizza fix. On his way, he stopped at a local establishment to buy Scratch and Lotto tickets. He even took a Quick Pick option instead of playing his usual numbers.

Allen got lucky when the numbers he placed his bet on matched the numbers on the local lottery’s website.

“I was shocked I won and did a double-take,” Allen recounted. “I checked the numbers again and again. It still hasn’t sunk in, even now that I won. I couldn’t believe it.”

The winner, who retired in 2012, plans to use his prize to address some personal financial concerns.

“The money is a big relief to my family,” he said. “I won’t have to lean on them as much as I had.”

Allen is the game’s first $350,000 prize winner this year. JB
