The third season of the 7s Football League promises even  more excitement, says league founder and former Azklas player Anton del Rosario at the official launch of the 7s Football Tournament at McKinley Hill Stadium. Admission to the games is free.

Instead of the original eight, 12 teams will now vie for top honors. Defending champions Super Eagles, who are gunning for a threepeat, face tough competition with  the return of the Bohemian Sports Club.

An exhibition game is also in the lineup, following last year’s Azkals vs. All-Star Team match.

Like previous seasons, this one is loaded with famous names and faces. Expect to see Nico Bolzico, Daniel Matsunaga, Fabio Ide, Richard Juan, Chris Johnson, and other celebrities who can play a mean game of football, on the field together with pros like Azkals players Ali Borromeo and Misagh Bahadoran.

As a partner of the league, Philam Life is a longtime supporter of football. Its parent company, AIA in Hong Kong, has helped spread the sport throughout Asia by sending elite coaches to train players, especially the youth. Its Philam Foundation, meanwhile, has partnered with the Philippine Football Federation to help train underprivileged kids in the sport, which Philam says is in line with its ideals of teamwork and healthy living, in addition to its own wellness program, Philam Vitality. —CONTRIBUTED
