A new ranking of the most expensive ski resorts in the United States for lodging placed Deer Valley at the top of the snow pile.

Guests of the Park City, Utah resort spend on average $543 (around P28,000) a night for the least expensive double room, the highest rate among the 20 ski resorts, according to the list compiled by Cheaphotels.org.

Only hotels that hold three or more stars were considered.

With ski season in full swing, the list reveals the best ski resorts for winter holiday-makers of every budget.

At the other end of the spectrum, skiers with more modest budgets can book a room at the Killington Resort in Vermont for an average of $157 (around P8,000) a night.

For the list, Cheaphotels compared 20 main ski resorts based on room rates. For each destination, editors looked at the average price for the cheapest available double room during the months of February and March.
