Valentine’s is one occasion when the ambiance must be as good as the food, if not better.

Mother-and-daughter Rina Go and Nicole Go Thorp must have had romantic chic in mind when they conceptualized Nic’s café, for it brings together food and fashion—two things they are most passionate about. That’s how Nic’s, their café, started. It’s a fusion of fashion and food.

Chic images, like photos of Grace Kelly and Audrey Hepburn, plus a huge mural by Ena Sison, welcome guests in the newly opened café at Park Terraces, Makati.

The Nic’s brand has grown from its humble beginnings as a commissary in 2001. Their first café opened in San Juan in 2010.

The flagship store at Park Terraces is reminiscent of Parisian and New York cafés with a very cosmopolitan vibe, designed by interior designer Ivy Almario, who was helped by sister Cynthia in the furniture selection.

Nic’s offers Filipino and European comfort food—from roast turkey, chicken relleno, an array of gourmet pasta and pizza to chocolate fudge cookies and a smorgasbord of cakes.
