MANILA, Philippines — Miss Universe Philippines titleholders had a mini reunion during Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray’s homecoming show on Sunday, February 24, at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
The most beautiful Filipinas in the universe gathered in the tribute fashion show-cum-concert for Gray dubbed as “Raise Your Flag.”
Gray wowed the crowd in jam-packed Araneta Coliseum as she sashayed the stage donned in her fiercely sexy lava-inspired gown, which she wore during the Miss Universe 2018 coronation night in Bangkok, Thailand last December, with hair side-swept, exposing her signature three-stars-and-a-sun ear cuff.
Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach was among the beauty queens present at the show.
She even posted via Instagram a photo with Gray captioned: “Welcome home, @catriona_gray! Each and every Filipino is so proud of you!”
Other Miss Universe Philippines titleholders present at the event were Rachel Peters, Maxine Medina, Mary Jean Lastimosa, Ariella Arida, Shamcey Supsup, and Venus Raj.
All of them either had a Top 10 or a runner-up finish during their time to compete in the prestigious Miss Universe pageant.
Arida also posted a photo with her fellow Filipina beauty queens via Instagram on Sunday.
Medina likewise shared a similar snapshot, which she captioned: “Miss Universe homecoming with ever bubbly lovely @catriona_gray. Congrats and we’re all proud of you!”
It was also during the Raise Your Flag show when it was announced that teen star Maymay Entrata would portray Ms. Gray in an episode of ABS-CBN’s MMK on the life of the beauty queen. Entrata was also present in Sunday’s fashion show-concert.
Some of the performers during the event were TNT Boys, Jed Madela, and Morisette Amon. Bamboo also serenaded Gray with the song “214,” which was popularized by his former band Rivermaya.
Gray arrived in Manila last February 15 for her grand homecoming festivities.
A parade for the Miss Universe 2018 snaked through the cities of Pasay, Manila, and Makati last Thursday, February 21. A separate parade in honor of Gray was also held around Araneta Center last Saturday, February 23. /kga
