A teenager in Norman, Arkansas simply cared for his friend and classmate so much that he bought him an electric wheelchair, which took him two years to save up for.

The Caddo Hills School District’s Facebook page narrated that its senior high school student Tanner Wilson surprised his classmate Brandon Qualls with the wheelchair, as posted last Wednesday, Feb. 27.

Qualls previously had a manual wheelchair which helped him in moving around for class. For years, Wilson looked for an electric wheelchair to make his classmate’s life more comfortable, local media KARK first reported.

“He’s just been a really good friend and I wanted to do him a favor,” Wilson was quoted in another report by THV11. “I just felt like I needed to do it and I wanted to do it.”

To save up for the wheelchair, Wilson took a part-time job at a local car mechanic shop, as per Boston 25 News. Wilson added that if he was given a chance, he would gladly do it all over again.

Meanwhile, Wilson’s teachers said that what he did was not a surprise to them. “He loves to do [things] for others. He loves to take up for others. He is just a great young man,” Caddo Hills School District teacher Kathy Baker said.

“I feel like life is a little too short to, you know, be judging everybody,” Wilson said about his good deed. “[And] you should think more of others than just yourself.” Katrina Hallare/JB
